In a total of 325 healthy men and women in their fourth to fifth decade, basic anthropometric measurements and estimation of body fat using skinfold thickness at three sites were made, and the incidence of overweight was studied. On anthropometry, the mean of height and weight was taller and heavier, respectively, than that reported by others, which might be attributable to the high socioeconomic status and living standard of the study subjects. The mean of body fat of the fourth and fifth decades in men was 17.5% and 19.0%, respectively, and that in women was 23.9% and 26.0%, respectively, being significantly higher in women in the fifth decade compared with that in the fourth. The body fat in men remained fairly unchanged until late fourties, when a significant increase compared with that in early thirties was noted. In women, however, a significant increase occurred in late thirties and remained essentially similar until late fourties. The fat free weight showed no significant differences between age groups in both sexes. The age-related changes it parameters reflecting body weight, such as body mass index and obesity index in both sexes were closely related to those in body fat. The incidences of overweight as evaluated by body fat and these indices were unexpectedly high, being as high as approximately 30-50% of the study subjects as a whole. In addition, the incidences by these criteria were also quite dissimilar in certain age groups in both sexes. This suggests that each criterion itself needs further studies.

Abstract
As I examined the relationship of Buddhism and Physical education, I found that the former having much to do with Oriental philosophy has had much influence on men`s practical physical activities.
Body and mind, according to Sakyamuni Buddha, have a very close inter relation to develo them soundly. In that Buddhism ultimately aims to seek nirvana through body, physical as well as mental activities should be equally and maximally utilized for perfect spiritual growth.
The philosopy of Buddhism as above happens to be similar to thats of plato, emphasizing the neessity of sports or physical education for the harmony of a desirable and ideal human being.

Abstract
Senior citizen`s activity in recreation are examined and analyzed in this paper.
Most of those who exercized regularly-two or three hours daily were found tolead pleasant and healthy lives. on theother hadn, those who either did not take part in any of the recreation activities or did not even know what recreation was responded that they were not in good health.
The trend is that the number of people over 64 years of age is increasing. It would thus be necessary that various kinds of recreationprograms should be developed to nake their life after retirement both promising and rewarding, together with training qualified personnel to teach them. It is suggested that recreation centers for senior citizens who are less fortunate economically be established across the country as well so that they cna use the facilities without too much financial burden.

Abstract
Though the Survey intended for 164 highschool players and 148 sports leaders(all 312 people connected with the sports) within Kung Ki-do for the purpose of analysing their sports Value consciousness in Korea, this thesis finds the following facts ;
1. 79% of high school players and 71% of sports leaders find their life worth while living with the sports activities. but they are not satisfied with their material life.
2. In the analysis of their sports value consciousness, the good mannerism(84%), the cultivationism receive the high supports, as each figure indecate, more than 60% support rates. According to this support rates, I think these isms represent the sport value consciousness of players and leaders. Especially, the good mannerism and the cultivationism of mental training have the highest support. by this fact, We can think that high school players and sports lesders possess the high moral sense.
3. In the way of life, both players and leaders try to live their life in a earnest manner and the sense of cooperation.
4. Players and leaders have a similiar consciousness of sports value.
As a result of this survey, I conclude like this : high school players and sports leaders tend to have a similiar consciousness of sports value and take part in the sports with the traditional view of value. These results would be caused by this reason why the confucian ideas have affected as a dominant view of our society for a long time and players are influenced by the leaders` view of value under the leader`s guidance and training consciously or unconsciously.

Abstract
The present study consists of two experiments examining the idea that factors promoting external focus will reduce awareness of internal exercise-induced pain and fatigue(perceived exertion). The first experiment was a laboratory study. Twenty subjects were randomly assigned in to an external attention group(EAG) and an internal attention group(IAG), and they were required to run on a treadmill for 20 minute with 5mph. During this excercise, the IAG was instructed to focus on a series of internal/body sensations, while the EAG was required to work on the congnitive task(simple mathmatic task). Their perceived exertion rate and heart rate were continuously measured by Borg’s RPE scale(1977) and an EKG system, respectively.
The second experiment was a field study. With the same procedure as the first experiment twenty subjects ran 2km on an outside track, while focusing on external or internal condition. The results of these experiments produced by repeated measures of ANOVAs indicated that the IAG perceived significantly higher fatique than the EAG throughout the 20 minute treadmill exercise. However, the RPE was not significantly different between these two groups at the later time periods(15min., & 20min.) of treadmill exercise. There were no heart rate different between the EAG and the IAG. The result of the field experiment showed that the EAG ran faster than the IAG on the track, although the RPE wasnot significantly different between these two groups. These results were discussed with conceptual explanation drawn from assumptions about(a) the importance of cognition in mediatiog exercise-induced fatique, and (b) the limited capacity available for focusing attention on different stimulus sources (McCaul & Malott, 1984).

The Effect of Hypoxic Training on Cardiovascular Function and Performance of middle and long Distance Athletes 자연과학편 : Hypoxic training이 중(中) · 장거리선수의 호흡순환계(呼吸循環系) 기능(機能) 및 performance에 미치는 효과(效果)
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of 9 week simulated hypoxic training using gas mask on cardiopulmonary function and performance of 8 middle and long distance endurance athletes. After the training period the following changes were observed.
Experimental and control group improved in treadmill exercise time 8.4% (p<.05) and 15.8% (p<.01) respectively. In performance test experimental group increased their running speed in 1,500m, 5,000m, and 10,000m. Meanwhile, control group increased their running speed in 5,000m and 10,000m. In blood composition alteration following the training experimental group showed 4.2%(p<.05) increase in exercise recovery Hct. Control group showed 2.5%(p<.02) and 3.8%(p<.01) increase in exercise recovery Hgb and Hct.
In aerobic capacity experimental group showed 5.65 and 7.7% (p<.05) imrovement in VO₂max(ml/kg/min) and MV. Both groups demonstrated little change in anaerobic capacity represented by anaerobic threshold(=AT). In OBLA experimental group showed 8.9%(p<.05) and 23.7% increase in OBLA-% VO₂max and OBLA-MV.
In conclusion experimental group did not demonstrate the significant training effects in all variables. However, We found, in some variables, the positive answers concerning the hypoxic training effects. It is believed that both groups already reached high level of cardiopulmonary function and performance before they start training and that might affect the results of this experiment.

Abstract
This study was intended to find out the effects of the power-stength training and its co-effect in the fatigue type exercise using the model of the stretch-shortening cycle exercise.
13 females took part in this study voluntarily They were divided into two groups-the experimental group and the control group, and trained their arm muscles for the former and their leg muscles for the later three times per week for 12 weeks in the power-strength training program.
Before training, all subjects’ arm muscles were tested by an experimental protocol. The maximal work ability test(MAX) and the fatigue exercises were done on the sledge system made specially. 10 times of MAX were made with the maximal effort of arm muscles in the condition of which the subject was released at 40cm from the force platform and then push the sledge backwards. 100 times of the fatigue exercise in the submaximal level(50% or MAX) was continued after five minutes for the first MAX in which the subject was released at 10cm from the force platform every 3 seconds. However, the 2nd MAX was made immediately after the fatgue exercise.
The ground reaction force was collected from a force platform equipped in the sledge system directly, two electromyographies(EMG) telemetrically, and four blood samples were also gotten. Additionally, anthropometric data and fat % were also measured before each experiment.
The results showed that the maximal work ability increased significantly after 12 weeks in both groups. During the fatigue exercise, the contact time lengthened less after training than before in both group showed an opposite result, while the experimental group had the same pattern. Integral EMG activity was higher in the relative experimental condition, lower in the absolute condition compared with the control expriment in the experimental group. On the other nand, the control group showed lower activity after training thean before. Interestingly, a distribution of the averaged EMG showed a decreasing pattern in the deltoideus anterior muscle, and an increasing one in the triceps bracii muscle during the fatigue exercise in the relative experimental condition in both groups, while the control measurement revealed an increasing pattern in the deltoideus, and a decreasing in both groups, while the control measurement revealed an increasing pattern in the deltoideus, and a decreasing pattern in the triceps bracii. respectively. The concentration of blood lactate was lower in both experiments after training than in the control measurement.
These results therefore suggested that 1) the effect of the power-strength training was influenced sensitively by the speed of muscle contraction during exercises. 2) the power-strength training enhanced the recruiting ability of motor units, and 3) the muscular fatigability was depended on the muscles conditioned during the physical training. An additional suggestion was that the power-strength training increased the elasticity of muscle tissues and at the same time the effective utilization of the elastic energy during the concentric contractions.

Abstract
In this paper I analysed how the healthy the usual handicapped and the auditory handicapped reacted on sound and light. And I compared whether they had the difference of the reaction time on the choice indication of light or nut. The conclusion is as follows :
First. on the simple reaction of sound, when reacting 500㎐, 1000㎐, 3000㎐ there was no difference anory the blind contained people who have had sight slightly. (p>0.05), but when reacting only 3000㎐ it indicated p< 0.05 in the comparison between the healthy and the auditory handicapped.
Second, there was no difference on the simple reaction time of light(p >0.05)
Then there was also no difference on the optical reaction of light.
Finally, as the sound grows louder, the auditor handicapped are faster than the healthy on the simple reaction time
According to this conclusion I can propose that as the sound is low there is no difference of reaction time between the healthy and the auditory handicapped but if the sound is loud there is. I think training to shorten the reaction time is more effective to train reaction on the sound more than 1000㎐ than to train that on light. After this. We must study intensively players the usual handicapped and the auditory handicapped’s reaction time.

Kinesiological analysis in tennis forehand strokes 자연과학편 : TENNIS FOREHAND STROKE 의 동작분석(動作分析)
The purpose of this is aimed at improving the skill and technique at tennis play by engaging in a analysis from cinematography taken by 16mm high speed camera, over areas ranging to the stick picture of racket, variation of the velocity at a swing, the velocity of racket at a impact, the angle of the elbow Joint, and impact’s force.
The results were as follows:
1. The stick picture of racket at a swing were observed by the two; one is way of swinging by sticking a lot forword the racket while drawing a grip end and the other was also Jutting out the racket head at last step. It seems that the latter is more ideal.
2. The velocity variation of racket at a swing was increased as approaching to the impact position and the impact was watched to be made at the spot near to the maximum speed.
3. The velocity of raket at impact showed that the everage velocity of teh rising hall(17.99m/sec) was lower value than that of top ball(19.85m/sec) and this showed signigficant difference statistically.
4. The angle of elbow Joint at impact showed that the everage angle of the rising ball(149.28degree) was higher value than of top ball(146.67degree) but it was not in significance
5. The impact force at impact showed that the everage impact force(160kg) was lower value than that of the top ball(188.37kg) and this showed significant difference statistically.

Abstract
Fifteen hoalthy trained, middle-aged fermales (age=34.8±3.6yr ; 30∼43yr) Were studied to determine effects of 10 weeks of Aerobic dance un plasma cholesterol concentrations.
The exercise program was cansisted of 60 minutes aerobic danciong 5 times. WK^-1 on consecutive days (Monday to Friday), for 10 weeks. The intensity of exercise was moderate(60%HRmax∼85%HRmax).
Plasma cholesterol leveks were analyzed using by ultracentrifugation Blood samples were taken from antecubital vein during 90 : 00∼09 : 40 on each test day before and after the exercise program.
The minimum fasting hour of each subject was twelve.
The results of this study showed that ; (1) there were not statistically significance in the difference between the pre-and post-test means for plasma T-C, HDL-C, LDL-C, VLDL-C, Tg concentrations and the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL-C(T-C/HDL-C), (2) After the 10 weeks of exercise program, however, plasma HDL-C concentration increased by 11%, about 5㎎/㎗(p=0.0787).
These results indicated that a 10 weeks of aerobic dancing does not alter plasma cholesterol levels when inital levels of plasma T-C, LDL-C, VLDL-C, Tg & T-C/HDL-C are low and high initial HDL-C level.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigat the soccer players’ special endurance training method.
The subjects were six male students in the department of physical education at H university.
After performing stationary, progressive, and irregular load exercise for 35.28 minutes by Bicycle ergometer on the standard of the whole running distance and condition at the time of soccer game, WBC, RBC, Hgb, HCT and PLT wers measured before and after exercise.
The results were as follows;
1. WBC by stationary, progressive, and irregular load was shown to have decreased by 5minutes and 10 minutes at recovery after exercise than before exercise(F2.30=0.009, p>0.05), but WBC by stationary, progressive, and irregular load methods was shown to have increased(F2.30=10.826, p< 0.01).
2. RBC by stationary, progressive, and irregular load was shown to have decreased by 5minutes and 10 minutes at recovery after exercise than before exercise(F2.30=0.011, p >0.05), but RBC by stationary, progressive, and irregular load methods was shown to have increased(F2.30=18.453, p< 0.01).
3. Hgb by stationary, progressive, and irregular load was shown to have decreased by 5minutes and 10 minutes at recovery after exercise than before exercise(F2.30=0.0095, p >0.05), but Hgb by stationary, progressive, and irregular load methods was shown to have increased(F2.30=7.508, p< 0.01).
4. HCT by stationary, progressive, and irregular load was shown to have decreased by 5minutes and 10 minutes at recovery after exercise than before exercise(F2.30=0.016, p >0.05), but HCT by stationary, progressive, and irregular load methods was shown to have increased(F2.30=7.5094, p< 0.01).
5. PLT by stationary, progressive, and irregular load was shown to have decreased by 5minutes and 10 minutes at recovery after exercise than before exercise(F2.30=0.106, p >0.05), but PLT by stationary, progressive, and irregular load methods was shown to have increased(F2.30=0.106, p<0.01).
It was concluded that the differences of WBC, RBC, Hgb, HCT and PLT between after exercise and before exercise in staionary, progressive, and irregular load were shown to have decreased. but there were differences between load methods. Im comparision between loads, irregular load method has increased more highly than stationary and progressive load methods in WBC, RBC, Hgb, HCT and PLT. Accordingly, it is assumed to be more clearly lightened when the study of training by stationary, prograssive and irregualr load methods is in active.
